Players can drop in and out of the game at any time. Simply press the join button to drop in, and hold the leave button for a few seconds to drop out, even during gameplay.

Mid-Game Join

During campaign gameplay players can drop in or out at any time. During Battle Mode players can drop out at any time, but can only drop in at any time if the setting is enabled. [Options > Gameplay > Allow PvP Mid-Match Join]
