Device Connection Limits

Cymatically Muffed supports 16 simultaniously connected devices, concurrently with the keyboard/mouse. Below are the limits of connecting various devices:

How to Connect Natively Supported Devices

Cymatically Muffed features native support for many devices. Most gamepads will work with the game, but those found below will have device-specific support.

Steam Controller

Hold Y and Steam button to power on controller in pairing mode. (may require a firmware update)

Connect via micro-USB cable.

Hold Steam button for a few moments to power on or off.

Steam Controller dongle connection is preferred for wireless connection. Hold X and Steam button to power on controller into wireless dongle mode.

Steam Link Touch

Steam Link Touch is a free app provided by Valve that allows you to stream and/or control your Steam games with a virtual gamepad on your phone.

DualShock4 (PlayStation 4 Controller)

Power on by holding down the Share and then PS button for a few seconds. Light will start strobing to indicate pairing mode.

Connect via micro-USB cable.

Hold the PS button for ~6 seconds to power off. Hold the button for a few moments to power on.

DualShock3 (PlayStation 3 Controller)

Connecting your DS3 via bluetooth can be done, but it comes with a lot more leg work than getting it into pairing mode. If this is something you're interesting in pursuing, we recommend starting your research here.

Connect via mini-USB cable.

Nintendo Switch Pro

Hold the small Sync button on the top of the controller for a few seconds. Lights on the bottom of the controller will begin to light back and forth to denote pairing mode.

Connect via USB-C cable.

Press the Sync button on the top of the controller for just a moment to power off. Press a few buttons to power on.

Xbox One

Power on device. Hold the ")))" button on the top of the controller for a few seconds. The Xbox logo will begin flashing to denote pairing mode.

Connect via micro-USB cable.

Hold Xbox button for ~6 seconds to power off. Hold the button for a few moments to power on.

Xbox 360

Wired (not wireless with a charging cable) controllers can be used with most PCs just by plugging it in. Wireless controllers require a receiver.

Known Non-Natively Supported Controllers

Non-natively supported controllers can be used to play the game, but on-screen input glyphs and device icons may not match your device.

Higher Bluetooth Bandwidth

If you wish to connect more devices via bluetooth, you may need to increase your system's bluetooth bandwidth. This can be accomplished with devices like the AIRcable Host XR5.
